The “Fondation Santé Globale” held its 4th edition of the evening “Récits de Montagne” Wednesday, November 19, 2014. For the second year, Immex is proud to have acted as the official sponsor of this fundraiser for outdoor enthusiasts.
The very entertaining evening was moderated by the unique and inimitable Oliver Ouellette who is an experienced climber in the region. Diverse stories, stunning images, high quality speakers and remarkable adventures. First, the family Peloquin spoke about their trekking of 175 km in 11 days involving three generations around the Mont Blanc. It was then the turn of Benoit Leblanc and his girlfriend Annie Chouinard who described their trip to Norway, where climbing offers a fine excuse to navigate between fjords and mountains. Subsequently, Yan Mongrain revealed his climbing expedition in the Northwest Territories and the Cirque of Unclimbable. Finally, Michel Caron presented the particular sport of mountain running and trails.
The evening of “Récits de Montagne” also awarded three “Piolets d’Or” to 3 schools which, by their initiatives to promote healthy lifestyles in their community, have put forward innovative projects related to the values of “Programme Santé globale”. The winning schools are: l’École de La Montée (secondary), l’École du Jardin-des-Lacs (primary) et l’École du Triolet (secondary).
Thanks to the public and sponsors of this event, $20,000 will go to the “Fondation Santé Globale” to promote healthy lifestyles and the practice of outdoors for young people.
